This is really great. Keep moving in this direction, especially when thinking about that image above. You'll have to be picky when you use it in accordance to the novel and your project, but it will be a perfect way to merge the two.
Jon the music is amazing! I immediately get chills, and it seems to go with the book that you have chosen.(What is the music by the way?) Also, are you using maya or 3ds for the animation?
It's called "the other side" by Michael Nyman. Lol, it's probably a bit of a cheat because that music could give one chills looking at a blank wall. I love it though. He also did, "the departure" which is really good. This was 3ds Max and I actually used a particle system to disperse them and create a variety. I am learning a whole lot about max this year. So powerful. I still hope to learn Maya though.
