Autonomous roof_scape

  1. Jon, these look great! What a fun project! What were the constraints?
    P.S. 3ds Max?

  2. There were very little, but we were supposed to stay atop the building and not puncture it in any way. We also had to maintain a height restriction of 15ft above rooftop. We had to explore wind in some way.

I did use 3ds Max. I wanted to do an animation, but did not have enough time.

  3. I think it's an interesting argument that I would agree with you, has yet to be explored in architecture, and it has a lot of potential with a more generous deadline. It creates an interesting situation as the robotic arms change the game. They can force interaction and substantially alter the user experience. I would be interested in how the hexagonal platforms respond to the changes in wind (animation would sell it). Other conditions such as time of day, population load, and program in general would be worth considering within your system. Very cool.
